The Society of Diplomates

In 1946, Harrisburg area physicians established an organization with the following goals:

  • Improve the quality of medical services.
  • Promote the mutual interests of Board-certified physicians in the area.
  • Become better acquainted with fellow members.
These charter members established that "a formal dinner meeting will be held annually, at which time the membership will be addressed by a speaker of outstanding reputation". For eighty years, medical professionals from the Harrisburg area have come together for an evening of fellowship and learning. Membership is open to any board-certified physician in Central Pennsylvania, and new members are always welcome. Dear Members,

Mark your calendars for the Annual Dinner Meeting of The Society of Diplomates of Harrisburg. I am proud to share with you the details of this event as we celebrate 80 incredible years of our organization. The Annual Dinner Meeting will be held on Saturday, February 28th, 2026, at the West Shore Country Club. This year’s featured speaker will be an amazing comedian, Glen Tickle. Come prepared to participate in the silent auction that will benefit this year’s charity, Veterans Outreach of PA. A formal event invitation will be sent out following the New Year.

Enclosed, please find your invoice for the annual dues. Kindly take a moment to confirm the information on this invoice and you are encouraged to add a contact e-mail address and phone number for official use only. If you wish to pay this invoice online, you may do so at www.societyofdiplomates.org and then e-mail any necessary changes and updates to societydiplomates@gmail.com. If you prefer to mail a check, please include a copy of the invoice with changes and updates. The mailing address is 4075 Linglestown Road, #165, Harrisburg, PA 17112. Your annual dues are necessary to pay for the Society's administrative costs including software, the postal box, website, printing, and supplies.

Also enclosed, you will find the 2026 Annual Dinner Sponsorship Program. Sponsorships pay for our featured speakers and help our organization to continue our mission. I ask you to share this brochure with your practice as well as other professional businesses you feel may be willing to support our organization. Additional copies are available upon request.

New members are always welcome, so please share information about The Society of Diplomates of Harrisburg with your colleagues and invite them to join us by completing the member application on the website. Note: We are discontinuing the initiative for the Sponsorship of Junior Diplomates until a clearer plan is formulated.

    Glen Tickle is a comedian and writer from New Jersey. He has performed around the country at festivals and colleges, and has appeared on Comedy Central, Amazon Prime, SiriusXM, Cozi TV, and The Travel Channel.

    Glen's acts mixes observational humor, daily life stuff, and raising two daughters gives Glen a treasure trove of comedy gold! He's a regular headliner at comedy clubs coast to coast and can often be seen on stages at corporate events both nationally and internationally.
